The religious dispute mentioned in the history of the Koyama Hachiman Jinja above was the result of a village headman of the time, Ishiii Jotaro, taking an intense dislike to the images of Myōken Bosatsu, more commonly seen in Buddhist Nichiren Sect temples, on display in the the Koyama Hachiman Jinja. There was already an Inari JInja in the grounds of the KOyama Hachiman Jinja and the headman succeeded in getting  Hachiman-kami consecrated there. This later separated from the Koyama Hachiman JInja to become the Sanya Hachiman Shrine. The only reference I have been able to find to this shrine since then is the destruction of its main hall suring World War II and its reconstruction in 1957.
